Samuel Goldwyn

Samuel Goldwyn, nacido como Szmuel Gelbfisz (Varsovia, 17 de agosto de 1879[1]​ – Los Ángeles, 31 de enero de 1974) fue un productor de cine polaco-estadounidense de origen judío, ganador del Óscar y del Globo de Oro, fundador de varias productoras. Cofundador junto a Louis B. Mayer de la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Dotado de gran talento e inventiva, en su casi medio siglo de actividad produjo numerosas películas de calidad, especialmente en el género del melodrama y de la comedia musical, siendo a su vez descubridor de grandes talentos, tanto en el mundo de la dirección, como Cecil B. DeMille y William Wyler, como en el de la interpretación, con actores como Gary Cooper, David Niven, Danny Kaye, Lili Damita y Eddie Cantor.
